I can't even say anything but wow. I wish I could go on the tour to get it signed, but just... wow. I've watched Ryan since before '09 and Agents of Secret Stuff and I just love knowing what he was like before he got into all the YouTube stuff. It's like coming to know an old friend even better. (Even if the friend in question has no clue who you are or anything about you... it's still nice) It's not a conventional book, but it's really a good read and I enjoyed it. Also, read the heads. I didn't notice them until chapter three... but holy cow. Ryan Higa and ghost writer... this was beautiful. I give it 5 big bouncy inflatable green balls, and half a Will face.
He is unique and really funny. He manage to keep you reading and have a lot of fun with it even thought he never wrote a book before. And with it he also teaches you how to write a book too even if you feel like you couldn't. He's the best tbh. I've been following his videos for a while and they inspire me a lot for how creative he is. Also he was really sweet to talk about the ghost writer that is helping him with the book and include funny illustrations telling about how she helped. It's really worth a read.
I am half way through the book but yet again, Ryan Higa blows me away with how talented he is when it comes to comedy. After years of being on Youtube, he is one of the few long running Youttubers who remain consistent and funny. I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the book, that he and his ghost writer really nail his comedic sense in the book.Unlike on his Youtube channel, Ryan shares parts of his past and it gets a little dark but that was intentional so it could be inspiring for others who may be in the same place in their life. This book does a fantastic job balancing some darker tones and comedic ones. Ryan Higa has always been good with that and he is still good at it even when it comes to his personal life.Overall, great book worth a read whether or not you are a fan of his and want a sarcastic and witty book to make you laugh. If he ever decides to make another book, I'll buy it in a heart beat.
Ryan accomplishes an incredible feat, giving his fans an enjoyable read, while covering complex and highly personal topics. His humor and personality shine through in both the content and the format, bringing the book to life in a genuine way. Most of all, his message and the example he sets is inspirational for people of all ages. Excellent work!
I've been a fan of nigahiga for the longest time, and I remember showing his videos to my friends back when I was in middle school (which was about 9-10 years ago). I sound like a mother hen saying this but I was proud to see an official published book from Ryan. Not only was it sincere and funny, this book showed the struggle and passion that young kids can have which adults usually forget about. It brought back feelings and memories that even I couldn't remember as an adult now. Thank you for this book and sharing your story!

Great reading. I got it on Kindle. The character breakdown of Paul Le Roux is fascinating. I believe his motivation was to become the next Godfather or Pablo Escobar, Dipping his fingers into anything illegal that he could. From fathering the opioid crisis in the US, to running meth into China from North Korea, to selling missile technology to Iran.This book even goes into the characters of the Private Military Contractors that Le Roux hired to kill anyone that may have stolen from him.
I don’t know whether the story is any good or not but the book quality is terrible.I opened it for the first time and it fell apart .Chucked it in the bin.So disappointed.

Struggling with this but maybe it's because i have a mental block about Foucault!!
Foucault's Archeology of Knowledge builds the foundation of Foucault's work. Not an easy read but in my opinion essential in understanding the broader purpose of Foucault's earlier and later works. The work itself stands alone as an original approach to flushing out Truth and power relations. It draws heavily on others work (Nietzsche) but still is very unique (hence a lot of critics/scholars difficulty in attempts at categorizing Foucault).
This volume is a great introduction to Foucoult's thought. As other reviewers have said, he takes ideas he broached in his earlier works and further develops them here. That said, this is not light reading. If you want just a quick distillation of Foucoult's ideas, you would do better looking elsewhere. Foucoult wants to make you think and think deeply about this whole concept called knowledge. In that he succeeds. The down side is that he has so many ideas in his head, he does not always connect the dots. You, the reader, will at times have to do that but Foucoult has given you enough substance that you can, if you are versed in the subject matter at all, do that well. The version I read was the Kindle version. Technically, that worked perfectly. I was able to easily highlight and take notes from the Kindle app on my iPad. My bottom line, if you want some serious reading that will force you to think, try this book. The Kindle version is, for me, a great choice.
wonderful service received from amazon.foucault's logic is a bit like a spider web with facts spaced at intercises , thus relating every represeentation to forward desired truths and ambiguities.
My sympathies to anyone who has to read this. This was something I had attempted to read on recommendation of a professor. Later on in my graduate studies I had to read it. It is a required reading for anyone studying rhetoric. If you can get through it, you are destined for greatness. It is reading that requires intense concentration and no interruptions!
This is a must-read book for the reader who wants to understand the thought of Foucault.

Not in the same league as Cisco Press Books. I'm not referring to Cisco vs Juniper but the writing and information style. I went from a Cisco shop to a Juniper shop. And before that I was Desktop Support moving into Networking. Using the Cisco Press Books to make my way from Desktop Support world to Cisco Networking world, gave me better direction and structure than this "JUNOS Enterprise Switching" book is doing to get me from Cisco Networking world to Juniper Networking world. I also purchased "JUNOS Enterprise Routing" & "Juniper Networks Warrior", I'm not impressed by either of those. This is not a Cisco vs Juniper thing. The truth of the matter is, Juniper is a better networking system than Cisco in my opinion. I hope Juniper books get to the same level as Cisco Press books. Maybe Juniper needs a Juniper Press division.
I have both the Enterprise Routing and Enterprise Switching books.They are both great resources.They have helped me initially grasp concepts terms and syntax. And they continue to be valuable references.The chapters are developed logically, and the examples provided are very helpful.And I seldom travel without it now, as it is loaded on my Kindle. Stuck in an airport, or making a long flight, it's easy to pull out my Kindle, listen to some music AND (re-)read a chapter or two to further clarify a topic.For me, this is not a "read it once" text. There's always a "little more" to be mined.
hopefully I'll pass my next test!! But seriously, I work with lots of Juniper switches. These don't cover QFX switches, but the principles are good.
This is one of those "page turner" technical books, the authors did a great job to educate you in an entertaining manner. We were just introduced to Juniper (we are a Cisco shop primarily), and this is an excellent if not "must read" for any admins getting Juniper gear. Even though it focuses on switching, given that the OS is Junos, it can do what routers can too, which means the skills learned can be used on other Juniper equipment. Definitely a buy.

This is a well written book that discusses the Juniper switching line. It does a good job describing how they work and how to configure and troubleshoot them. It is a must have for anyone working on Juniper Switches.

I bought the original when I'd had my general license for about a year. This is a worthy update to it.It's painfully obvious that many ham operators need to read this. His first and most important rule is to listen. If you don't you'll never hear the DX station announce "listening up 5 to 10" so they immediately call. Equally important is to listen to the stations that the DX calls. If they are Midwest or West coast and you're in New England with a modest antenna like me, you should move on.My only complaint is that the author stressed spending your money on upgrading antennas first. While this is good in theory , many of us don't have the room or money for a tower and beam antenna.
To be honest, I'm giving the book 5 stars because I want to promote future books on this topic.I'm thrilled the author put forward the effort to write a book on DXing.That being said, I found the information in the book elementary and common information within the Amateur Radio community.Nothing in the book that wouldn't be commonly found in a few Amateur Radio magazine articles.It would be wonderful to read a book on a DXr's life journey, starting out small as most hams do, and advancing through different radio equipment, and advancing in various antennas and the DX results they provided.
I guess you have to forgive amateur authors their oversights but I had read twenty pages or so into this book all the while wondering when the definition of "DXing" was going to come. (Yes I am a licensed HAM, newly licensed) I finally had to stop and look the farm up. After that the book began to make more sense to me. Lots of good information though overall.
I'm not a big time DX-er, at least not yet. This book was easy to read and full of great information. I expect it will help me a lot once I finally get my new antenna put up so I can get back on HF.My call sign is AG3EK.

Good information about DXing. I recommend this to anyone who wants to work DX. The price is right also. The reading list at the end looks pretty good also.
This is a perfect guide for the beginning DXer. But it also contains a lot of great information for even experienced DXer's. It's an easy and enjoyable read. I've found myself going back through many chapters many times. I believe this is the best book in the category.

Very good short book about the 1962 Mets. They were probably the worst team in MLB history. Breslin takes a light hearted look at them and look at what brought it all about. Any baseball fan should like this and especilly New York Met fan.
The Mets. It's a franchise that has frustrated and delighted fans for decades. From the early days of record losses to amazing series wins and back again. It's a rollercoaster ride. This book focuses on the beginning, the 40 wins and 120 losses days. A retrospective for Mets fans that could elicit smiles or a reminder of those miserable days. It was a rough start with some colorful characters but the Mets gathered a loyal and patient fan base. Part of the reason for that might be the Brooklyn Dodgers fans who experienced disappointment and elation for many years and who were starved for a National League team to call their own. It's a quick read and well wotrth the time.
this is a short book by Jimmy Breslin about the 1962 NY Mets. This was the first year of their existence and they were comically inept as recounted in the pages of this book. They ended up losing 120 games which is a record. The team managed by 73 yr. old Casey Stengel , was made up of players who were castoffs from other teams and veteran players who had seen their better days. The Mets filled a void in New York after the Dodger and Giants had left and this team through their play and colorful characters won many New Yorkers over. Breslin has a talent for relating humorous stories, I particularly liked where he wrote that the Mets were going to give a Birthday cake to their first baseman Marvelous Marv Thornberry but decided against it because they were afraid he 'd drop it. While there are no pictures in this paperback edition, there is an appendix listing the 1962 Mets by position and it is interesting that one of the 1st baseman-Gil Hodges would become the Mets manager leading them to the World Series in 1969 with another member of the '62 team playing 1st base- Ed Kranepool. This is a great story of the Mets first year. As Tug McGraw once said " you gotta believe."
Breslin was a fantastic writer and he was never better than chronicling the story of the 1962 New York Mets, by most accounts, the worst team in MLB history. Seeing American League games wasn't a problem as the White Sox played mostly at night, but all of the Cubs games were in the afternoon, and this was cutting heavily into Hornsby's time for racetrack plunging, a real annoyance for him.Here's a comment about other clubs' possible castoffs that Hornsby made one Wrigley Field afternoon:"They say we're going to get players out of a grab bag. From what I seen, it's going to be a garbage bag. Ain't nobody got fat off eating out of the garbage, and that's just what the Mets is going to have to do. This is terrible. I mean, this is really going to be bad."So tell us what you REALLY think, Raj!Was he ever right!
