Wedding Receptions that Rock is the perfect book for brides and grooms to be, whether you are just getting engaged or are close to your wedding day. I couldn't put it down and I learned a lot about all the things to pay attention to when planning one of the most important days in your life. The "Regrets" chapter is a must read, and the tips and advice Rich Amooi offer are priceless. He knows what to focus on, and I even recommend this to wedding planners so they can guide their brides in the right direction.One of the things I like the best about this book is the many options and the ideas regarding the entertainment part (things I would have never thought of). A friend of mine just announced her engagement, and another one is renewing her wedding vows this summer, so this is the best gift for them to make their moment unforgettable. I haven't read a book for brides like this before, very informative, easy to follow, to the point and so unique.
This book is a fun read and it is full of great practical advice, from room layout, buffet setting or bar placement to the timing and schedule of all the main reception events including music suggestions, games and lots of original and fun ideas to add your personal touch to your wedding reception and make sure everything flows on your special day without awkward moments, long delays or bored guests. You will not find here the same common and typical advice that you read in all the wedding magazines, but much more personal and practical advice on how to have a memorable and fun wedding reception. I got lots of great ideas out of it and I found the top 25 wedding regrets section especially useful. Many of them were things I had given very little thought to, but that, of course, made lots of sense once the book pointed them out! Great little book. It is and easy read and it will definitely be worth your time and $$.
This book provides many useful tips and interesting stories about weddings and wedding planning! For me, going through the wedding planning process right now, this book provides a great base for starting the planning, many ideas that I will actually use during my wedding, and overall just a fantastic point of view about weddings!You don't realize that there are SOOOO many little details and nuances about weddings that are truly important and meaningful... that I would have never considered if not for this book!!!Very enjoyable to read!

As a wedding DJ myself, I have to totally agree with the ideas and suggestions in this book. Rich absolutely nails it! There are so many different factors that go into planning a wedding that wedding couples really have no idea about. This book is easy to read, quite entertaining, and will save you time and money in the planning process so you will avoid regrets on your most memorable day. This book is truly worth a hundred times more than the price of this book. This is a "must have" if you're planning a wedding. I highly recommend it!

Torture Mom was extremely difficult to read, certainly not for anyone looking for a book that's lighthearted or inspirational. The actions and words of the "mom" in this true story are beyond disturbing. Her treatment of these two young girls, lashing out, encouraging others to abuse and mistreat them was and is absolutely deplorable. Her parenting of all the children, her own and the neighbor kids was disgusting. Equally deplorable is that nobody stepped in, noone made even the smallest attempt to save them from this monsterous woman and her loyal followers. I was truly hoping someone, anyone would make an effort to save Jenny and Sylvia before it was too late. And, tragically, help came too late for one of them. It's a heartbreaking story and one that should move people to take action so horrid events never happen to a child. I was appalled that Gert wasn't more harshly punished. She's totally underserving of being referred to as "mom" or "mother".
As a young girl living in Indiana I can remember my mom talking about this case. I can also remember how angry my mom was when she was granted parole. After reading this I can understand why mom was so cautious about allowing my siblings and I to go to houses of people she didn't know. Such a sad and terrifying story. I loved and hated reading it at the same time.
The history of this case was very well researched. This book is not for the heavily empathic, though. Mr. Green goes very deeply into the mind of the victim, and what is believed to be what she experienced in her final weeks of life. You have been warned! I was crying in pain by the time I had finished reading.
I'm a true crime junkie and this just may be the most disturbing book I have ever read.This is the true story of a teenager who was brutally tortured and humiliated for 3 months in what is possibly the most heinous crime I have ever read about. This author leaves nothing to the imagination and I had to pause reading many times as the true meaning of the words hit me. Tears came to my eyes often and my stomach clenched even more.This book will stay with me for a very long time as I try to reconcile the world I know with the utter depravity that surrounded this girl.With this being said you may ask why I would recommend it, it's because I feel this girl deserves the world to know what happened to her.
At first I didn’t know if I was going to like this book. This was like watching a movie and thinking it’s boring, but when you watch awhile you can’t take your eyes off it.You would think it is fitch. How could one human be so cruel. And all those around and participated in this, is just so hard to believe.I truly didn’t want to stop reading it. I have loved true crime books and read a lotBut this one really touched me.
This was the most stomach churning book I've ever read! How any one person could inflict such horrors on another human being is mind boggling; let alone influence many others to participate! Not one of the perpetrators got anywhere near the punishment they deserved!
The depravity of people always amazes me. How anyone could do that to another person and a child is beyond my comprehension. Ryan Green is an incredible writer. You can picture the events. It was chilling.
This true crime book was disturbing to say the least. There is really no definite reason given for the abuse and torture of this young girl who is left in the "care" of Gert. Some o f the abuse is graphic so only read this if you have a strong stomach.

This is one of the best series in this genre I've found. It's by one of the only two authors I consistently stick with through series (A. American being the other). The author did good in "The Economic Collapse Chronicles" trilogy, I thoroughly enjoyed them, but in my opinion he really found his own voice and his unique twist in the genre with this series. It will also be of interest to anyone interested in fiction related to the end times from a Biblical perspective (which isn't to say it's preachy, or that I think this is how everything will work out exactly. I don't think the series was intended to be a Biblical study on the end times, it's a dystopian/EOTWAWKI novel with Biblical themes). I would also add, I see some people bad mouthing the ending. I couldn't disagree more. This was the perfect summary to the trilogy, and I couldn't think of a way to end it better. It brought tears to my eyes, which isn't easy for a book to do. Big thumbs up.Edit note: I've seen some reviewers complaining about conspiracy theories playing in to the book, which I find a little confusing. Granted, if you go in viewing this as an author telling you how the world actually works, I suppose I wouldn't agree with some of it. It's a book of fiction though, and to hold it to the standard of verifiable fact seems stringent at best. If this was a work of non-fiction, and the author was saying everything in the book was true, I would disagree, but in the world of fiction it's an engaging and creative book.

Mark Goodwin weaves a tale of a tomorrow or the next day that is believable and a bit scary.Noah & Cassie start out on different thought patterns. Wanna guess who turns out to be right? The saga grabs you from the first and doesn't let go even on the last page. It's a great story of how our world is so easily manipulated by those who think they are above the law of GOD and man. If you're not a prepper in the beginning, you'll at least be thinking about it at the end. To those who love freedom and our constitution, to see how easily it is shredded is painful. But look around today and see how close the story resembles what we face now. I laughed and cried and couldn't wait to read/listen to the next book in the series.While Mark ties up the stories nicely, it still leaves you wanting more! I can't begin to recommend this set highly enough. Mark Goodwin has become one of my favorite authors in short order.
This is a great series. I'm glad Mark Goodwin and Amazon are offering it as a box set now, because once you read the first book, you're going to be hooked and you'll need to read books two and three. My wife and I listened to the Audible format of this series during several road trips and really enjoyed it in that format as well. There are many good things to say about The Days of Noah series, but I'll keep this review brief and focused without spoiling any of the plot. First, Goodwin does a fine job crafting characters who are easy to identify with and become emotionally attached to. The novels involve two primary story lines: one of several families, including younger children, and one group with just adults, so regardless of your season in life, there will be characters with whom you'll easily identify. That's one of the strengths of these books; Goodwin places his easy-to-identify-with characters into scenarios and challenges that make the reader ask themselves, "Gosh, what would I do in that situation?" Goodwin then sprinkles nuggets of preparedness/survival knowledge throughout the books that help the reader think through what they would do if faced with a similar scenario and makes you as a reader want to go and develop the various skill sets presented in the books. Finally, and maybe what I enjoyed most about the novels, is Goodwin's unapologetic Christian perspective and how he uses the characters and scenes to setup relevant arguments and discussions concerning the current state of both our country and the world - and what Biblical prophecy says about where we may be headed. Read these books. They're fun, entertaining, and educational!
SIgh. I really wanted to read this and based on the reviews I purchased it, but within the first chapter it started with 9/11 truther nonsense. I thought I'd skip over it and it was just high schoolers in the book talking but then one if the main characters and his wife start talking like it’s a real thing. I don’t care if’s this is fiction, if that’s believed by main characters and pitched as truth, I’m out.
Really loved this series – good depth – good story line – good characters. I agree with many of the reviewers that it truly is wonderful to read novels that contain no swearing, no filth of any kind. True the story itself has a lot of suspense and dangerous situations. That’s OK but I hate when authors have to use filth to “make it exciting.†Just not my cup of tea! So many of these fictional stories of the end times should make us think about our place with God. One day, God will have had enough of our choices and life styles and call his people home. Where will you be? Since I’ve made my decision for Christ, I am a much happier person and have been able to truly choose the things in life that mean something. I have a lot of love for people that I know comes from God Himself as HE is Love! Now that I’ve read this series, I can hardly wait to read the next series, The Days of Elijah. Not a dull moment when reading. Enjoy!

Fabulous book about an orchestra in Boston area whose musicians are all doctors or at least in the medical field. A sensitive, discerning view into the lives of these talented performers. You will learn why these doctors spend many, many hours practicing and why their music helps them become more compassionate medical providers. Many of them had to choose between a promising musical career and the medical world. Very cleverly written. I use the book as a gift for someone who understands the gift of music.
Read this prior to back surgery performed by a neurosurgeon who was and is a performing musician. Inspiring and reassuring at both her dedication and the crossover of abilities and talent.
I am a musician and my daughter is a physician and musician, so I find the book fascinating. The information is quite specific and well documented unlike magazine or health letter essays. I could have used less emphasis on the orchestra.
Outstanding book. I really enjoyed and bought a copy for a friend.
For anyone interested in classical music and the crossover into the world of modern medicine this is a great read!

Its great. I mean its volume 13 so if ur looking at this review you should have read the other 12 volumes already. So the question is why r u reading this when u could read volume 13. PLUS ULTRA!!!
I've always admired Horikoshi for his genius writing and intricate characters, and this volume only reinforced my admiration! Specifically an event that happened towards the very end of the volume involving Katsuki and Izuku. Shame this volume was on the shorter side.
An emotional rollercoaster, just like the rest of the series. This volume pushes the characters further into their development as well as expands on the seriousness of the plots unfolding in this world.The art and world building has always been enthralling, but the character development that we start to see within this chapter alone has me on the edge to read the next volume.
They Look great and came in good condition! Plus Ultra!
What more do I have to say? Can't i just rate this with the stars? Good grief. I love this manga. But said.
Man what a chapter this was . They definitely keep pushing character development and variety so you never get tired of the same thing .

Great book, bad Kindle version.I'm an undergrad. I bought this to learn Lisp, and it's absolutely blown my mind with how good it is. I've learned more from this book than I ever will from my college classes. I'd say this has been a really good introduction to Lisp, and a really good introduction to AI. It's easily becoming my favorite programming book. It's covered more material than 3/4 of my programming classes combined.The kindle version is bad though. The syntax is all wonky, which is critical when you need to differentiate `s from 's and ,s from .s. There are tons of misspellings in the kindle version. The code formatting is very difficult to read. Thankfully I've been able to get the code from the Peter Norvig's web page. If you can, get the paper edition. This is the second Common Lisp book I've read, so I've had enough experience that I can debug all of these problems myself.
As for AI part I must say that even though this book is somewhat old, its still very good for people new to the world of AI (such as myself). Since I only have another Norvig's book (http://www.amazon.com/Artificial-Intelligence-Modern-Approach-Edition/dp/0137903952/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1359373092&sr=8-3&keywords=Norvig) to compare to I must say that this book takes a more practical approach, allowing one to understand ways in which implementation efficiency can be improved.For CL part - the best CL introduction and real world usage book in my opinion. Yes, I've read PCL, yet still this book digs a lot deeper when it comes to optimization patterns for Common Lisp. Motivation for almost every design choice is clear (overcoming Prolog's drawbacks is one of my favorite parts).Also this book offers a variety of exercises and some of those are quite a time-killers.As for cons - some of the exercises are formulated a bit freely. And again, book is 20 years old, so some content is a bit outdated, especially techno-related.
Intro into Common Lisp with overview of specific outdated use cases. This book does not cover high level difficulties in AI development, falling back to description of historically significant AI projects, that are not representative of the field anymore and are covered on a very basic level.
Classic book on both programming and AI. While the AI material is obviously dated, the programming examples are great for anyone who wants to learn Common Lisp.
The book is excellent. It provides a great source of information to learn Common Lisp and programming techniques. The exercises are nontrivial which makes the book great to use in my classes. I am using it to teach programming courses.Nevertheless, the kindle version has a lot of problems. The code blocks are images, so I can't resize the fonts, show them in the projector during the class doesn't work. There are a lot of small typos in the text. Some cross-references like "in page X" must be rewrite to links that better fit the electronic format. I am very frustrated with the current electronic version and I hope that Amazon improve it soon. It would be great to have some feedback from Amazon about my suggestions of improvement.
Peter Norvig is very knowledgeable and a great author. Highly recommended if you're interested in AI. The chapter on optimization is extremely valuable.

This is a excellent book for both the history of AI and a lot of program written very well in Common Lisp. Peter Norvig is actuallyvery enthusastic about AI and programming. From a glimpse of the book, I know it is valuable for learner both of AI and Common Lisp. So I decided to buy one for myself.
