Its a good book, i think its a good study material for the 70-346 certification. I will take my exam in 2 weeks and I will update the review then.
The book is a pretty good starting point for studying for the exam, but it doesn't get you all the way there. I took the test just yesterday so the material is still pretty fresh on my mind. There were quite a few things on the exam that wasn't mentioned in the book or wasn't explained clearly enough to be able to answer any questions. Then, there were some things that were in the book but not explained well, it seems to assume that the reader is knowledgable about certain topics beforehand. One example I can think of was the explanation of the TRIPP test and what it's used for. However, it doesn't really explain how somebody would access this tool or how to use it. Is this tool a downloadable one, or is it a test you run from a web interface? I don't know, because the book didn't explain it!It's definitely worth picking up. You're not going to pass with this book alone though, you will need to do a lot of other research through Microsoft's documentation online as well. That might not be necessarily the book's fault, there were a few questions I encountered on the exam that I don't remember seeing anywhere else either. For example, I remember encountering quite a few Powershell commands that was never mentioned once during my reading so maybe the exam might have changed since the book was published or something.But, the book is definitely a good supplement to any other study materials you have for the 70-346 exam.
Just passed the 70-346 exam on the first try. Good book, easy to read, covers all the topics. Read this book, watched some CBTNuggets videos, , had some hands on experience, passed the test first try. Do sign up for a free trial O365 subscription because Microsoft does move things around and you will want to know where you need click to pass the test.

Missing new info, based on MIcrosoft's "measured skills". It's lacking information on Azure AD Connect, so that means this book is full of obsolete exam info on synchronization from on-prem to Azure AD. It's still okay, but supplement this book with other resources.
The writer has done a good job in splitting the “exam skills†equally so that you can spend 20-30 mins per day reading to finish each skill.The book is clear and simple, but little bit lags on practical & labs side.I think the reader should do more practice after finishing this book and before sitting for this exam

Awesome book. Nothing on numerical relativity. The Pseudo time relaxation is pretty cool (that's in there)
I ordered this book by kindle. When I reached the download page, I was informed that a software update was needed, which was available only for OS 10.6. My computer runs OS 10.5.8. I have looked back through the writeup for the item but I don't find any mention of the need for OS 10.6.I would like a refund.If you check, dear Amazonites, you will notice that I am quite a good customer; I realise, one of millions.
I was really looking forward to this title, hoping in a book that would go beyond the usual toy problems of typical standard numerical simulations books. Also knowing that this book included real working code I was also hoping it would bridge the huge gap between theory and practice with a practical approach. Boy, was I mistaken. hard to believe, but there is not a single line of code in this book! The numerical codes in Fortran (yuk) are just dumped in the CD and superficially described (just barely saying what it does and what the input and output are) in a final 10 pages ( yes, you read that well, 10 pages) "chapter" that looks more like an appendix to anyone with a little common sense. I know college professors can be a bit disoriented about what is important and what not in their field of research (I still my quantum mechanics prof. employed approximately the same time to try to explain us while there are 2n+1 numbers between n and -n and to introduce us to Fourier Transforms) but this is really too much! The bunch of theory and equations that this book is littered is totally useless unless you show me how these equations get implemented in code.And if I have to wade through the code in a CD trying to figure it out by myself, what is the value of buying this book? Given this approach , I really pity the grad students of these guys...
This is an excellent introduction to Numerical Astrophysics. If you want to learn a particular topic (i.e. Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics), the chapters are short, sweet and self contained. It will give you the necessary logic and basic physics used in the field, which will empower you to understand the literature.Often when approaching a new field, the literature is impossible to learn from b/c papers aren't written for newbies. This is a great reference book that fills that void and gets you up to speed and prepares you to read the research. I just wish that it was a bit cheaper.
The book Numerical Methods in Astrophysics is an excellent overview to the field. It does a good job of finding the middle ground between being concise enough to be readable, but containing sufficient information to be useful. Many of the chapters could be expanded to full length texts themselves if the authors included all the details and multiple examples of how to code things, but this is not the purpose of this book. Rather, the purpose is to introduce a graduate student or active researcher to the field, and to give a brief overview of the field as understood by the authors. Each chapter is a mostly self-contained review of the subject of that chapter, and includes sufficient references to more primary literature so the interested reader can learn more if he or she desires.I don't know of any other book available that covers so many active areas in numerical astrophysics so well. My 7 year old daughter absolutely loves this book! The fox is hilarious and there are great themes of friendship and integrity and family throughout. She even dressed up as Fox for Halloween at school (book character day) and went with ears and fox tail and had half eaten paper in her mouth!
This author could benefit from a good copy editor, and from, well, any editor who could have steered him away from the error of creating a book about a bunch of a charming fox and a bunch of lovely, not-racist white Southerners who have a weird fascination with gratuitous stereotypes of China and Chinese people.Kids will enjoy the fart humor, which I'm willing to tolerate, but the stereotyping--ugh. Won't be buying any more of this author's work.
My daughter who is 8 years old absolutley LOVED this book. She said it was even funnier than the first one. She even asked if Mr. David will be writing more of this series because she loved reading it! Perfect for any age as my 6 year old son has started reading it now and I'm sure I'll need another copy since they said they'll be reading it over and over! Thank you Mr. David for yet another masterpiece!
my grandson loved the book..i enjoyed reading it to him. Like the part when his sister stood up to the bully and called him a big girl.. its a funny book..I'm going to get the first book too. Its good for any age
It is great but I don't recommend for kids who don't unders-tand humor OR don't think that wet farts are funny. If soplease don't buy it because your child wouldn't like it. I amgratefulif you will listen to me thanks. ;-)

I LOVE this cookbook! So many valuable recipes and I especially like the pork roast recipe with orange juice and pineapple slices, SUPPER YUMMY! I would recommend this cookbook to anyone that owns the Crock Pot Express. I enjoyed how the book is laid out. You can just look in the table of contents for the type of food you want to cook and the list of ingredients and directions are well written.Although I haven't had a chance to cook any of the recipes yet, I am planning on it as soon as I can perhaps the upcoming weekend.

When I worked in West Virginia I spent a lot of time with Catfish and he taught me about the miracle of herbs. He could name hundreds of herbs by eyesight and tell you what they were good for. He was a very spiritual simple man who lived in a one room log cabin from which he sold his Catfish Bitters, which was effective at treating a multitude of health problems, to people all over the world.
As far as shipping and quality of the book goes there's not complaint. The author seemed to be disconnected from the subject.
Love the heritage....I was very impressed with his knowledge the few times that I met with him. Is a wonderful book with the herbalist knowledge. He only lived a few miles from me so is very much history to me.
Sadly Dr. Amjad passed away late last year. Lots of knowledge was lost when he died. :-(
