I wish more people would read this. The problem is that it most definitely is NOT light reading. The important points are very easy to understand, which is good. However, because the book is well researched (which is a good thing), presenting that research and quotes from court decisions becomes non-light reading.Ultimately the author makes a very strong case for prison and punishment reform, and I truly believe we need serious reform if we want a better America. I really want you to read this book! Just know that it will take some effort. I'm a lazy reader and prefer light reading, but I'm glad I read this book. I now know so much more about something that affects SO many people's lives in this country and that (I now believe) truly needs some reforms.
This is a great book that talks about a topic/problem that we need to bring to the forefront.
Excellent and difficult and hopeful. Why voting is so important and how much needs to change.
